Start with the elevation
Grid patterns should align across adjacent openings and support the architecture. Record rows, columns, lite proportions and which sash or panels receive grids.
Between-glass grids
Grids sealed between the glass are easy to clean and available in selected profiles and colors. They create a visual division without changing the exterior glass surface.
Applied and simulated divided lites
Exterior and interior bars can create deeper shadow lines and historic-style detail. Spacer bars, profiles, adhesion, maintenance and availability vary.

For nonstandard patterns, use a dimensioned elevation or shop drawing so orientation, count and alignment are clear before fabrication.
